Nice day today so I got my recently rebuilt 2nd issue Aussie out for few photos.
Rebuild being the operative word. This fellow was a collection of body parts and a wrecked heavily worn head that I stripped, cleaned and re-flocked.
The eyebrows were more or less worn flat so very hard to get a reasonable effect, might actually redo these though as I am not too happy with how they look.
Uniform is a set of second issue vintage fatigues, original knuckle knife, machete and sheath, vintage sterling with replacement sling and clip.
The bush hat, flame thrower and grenades are from a couple of Timeless reissues that i had acquired loose some time ago and were lying around in my spares box.
Bit of builder's bum syndrome that I didn't notice as I took this shot...

Outstanding adventurer figure! Very cool to learn that this is a "complete restoration," brought back from the dead for many more years of exciting adventures!
Impressive flock work; very thick and full and even.

EXCELLENT re-build Kev! Eyebrows apart, I wouldn't worry too much about him having "builder's bum". It's considered a natural feature here, although we call it "plumber's crack"!

Do the Action Man talking figures speak with a British accent, or do they use the same voices as American GI Joe?
This figure looks like he should speak with a very distinct, upper-crust British accent.

Very smart indeed Kev! Just as Jake came out of the box all those years ago! These guys will always hold a special spot for me, probably because Jake was my first brand new out of the box action man! Great pick up!

It's a bit early in the morning for a full answer but I'm pretty sure the Talking Commander had three different voice actors during it's production run and I seem to remember Patrick Allen was one.
US audiences probably remember him for the Hammer film 'When Dinosaurs ruled the Earth' which was a cash in on Raquel Welch's dinosaur flick 'One Million Years BC'

Well...he wouldn't be Action Man if he didn't have a posh British accent.
I know guys who say they can distinguish between Action Man and G. I. Joe. Except for the name on the blue undies, I could never tell.
But, I think it's very cool that they have the correct accent.

Happy Halloween all. A very strange one in a very strange year.
Finally got round to divesting the recent 'T-Rex Action Man' of his far superior head-sculpt.
Jammed it on a Chad bod similar to what other members have tried..
It's certainly an improvement over that ill-thought out recent figure iteration which was made made all the more glaring due to its usage of a really fine 'classic' style head. Not totally convinced this is the body for it though myself. Might look around for a more suitable donor?

Great work
I've put 2 on chad valley bodies ( 2 on the left ) and 1 on an action man repro body ( the one in the far right )....not really sure which I prefer.

Just going visually I think the Chad body has hands that look too big for the more refined features of the headsculpt.

Thank you all chaps for your comments.
Barry, I think you have hit the nail squarely on the head. I think that's exactly what I don't like about it. It's not just the hands, there's an overall chunkiness that doesn't seem to fit with the sculpt. Maybe it's just a biased impression I have, having looked at and collected a fair few of the classic figures. I'll leave him as is for the present but I will change the bod when the opportunity to get a suitable one arises.
Chris your lads look great. That's a Cotswold donor bod you have on the extreme right I think?
