basic british soldier albeit a 40th , my late dad got me my first and then my wife got me the 40th as a 40th birthday present back in 2006


Most desired item ?
was a vintage red head with hard hands , then one turned up in the lot i got off my mate back in may (happy days)

What will you do with your collection as you get older ?
pass it on to my kids or grandkids, when I am no longer around

Do you set yourself a budget ?
no not realy , but i do sell stuff to buy more , but if i have to put something towards it then i check with the boss

Worst Vam/Joe/Mam or 1/6 figure ?
hall of fame joe figure , won for a pound on ebay ,

Views on 40th reproductions ?
i like them , it gave me an intrest in the hobby , i gave all my original stuff to my mate when i got divorecd in the early 90's as i had no room for them in the barrack block , i could have killed him as he said they were for his young son , then he sold them on a car boot sale
plus with the 40th i got all the outfits i never got as a child , which wasnt many as a mate of my dads used to work in a distribution centre , and my dad would give him a bottle of whiskey at christmas for a selection of outfits , they were ones that they couldnt send out because the packaging was damaged, so i would get them


Worst item of the Vam/Joe/Mam or 1/6 range ?
lack of articulation on mam and the massive weapons ?????

Best thing about collecting Vam/Joe/Mam or 1/6 figures ?
the smile they bring to me , and the strange looks off my family


Do you think your collection will be collectible in the future ?
only to those that want it , but i want it to stay in the family

If you did not collect Vam/Joe/Mam what would you collect?
scooters , now you didnt see that one coming!!!

Why do you like AMMO ?
as sparklebudgie said its like the old AMHQ , everyone is friendly , nobody takes the mick , I am not the worlds best photo taker, or customiser, but everyone is supportive of what i post , if it looks good to me then i am happy , but I am in awe of the work you chaps put into the hobby

Great read mate! Bottle of whiskey wouldn't get you squat these days! Even the damaged packaging items get sold in the shops nowadays!! Lol

i wish , rumour has it a massive rally next year in brighton august bank hol 50 yrs since mods and rockers , both groups turning up .........we all get on now ....

That's brilliant Cappy lol. Hey Daz I'll look out for that could never make up my mind whether I wanted a scooter or bike. Plumped for a 1961 Triumoh but has left me longing for an early Vespa or Lambretta :-)

Thanks , as I said got divorced and had no room , my mate said they were for his lad , that's not all there was a lone ranger and tonto , a timpo fort with figures and. A set of 7th cav cowboys indians FFL and arabs by britains .....

Oh no Daz. Is this fella still a mate? Don'tbunderstand some people. Why he didn't just hold onto them till you were on your feet again I'll never know :-(

No not a mate anymore , but that was over 20yrs ago I was in RAF at the time and moved into ta small barrack room with very little storage space

I would have been over the moon to receive the stuff you must have had come Christmas! Mind you, I can't complain, as I had a lot of aunts and uncles...

Your stuff sold at a boot sale? A real 'mate' then! Grrrr! 

Where'd you get the bike and scooter Cappy? I can see a couple of uses for the bike straight away...

Back in the early days, all it took, was for someone to throw a peanut! That meeting sounds great, it's going to be MASSIVE event, Scooters and coaches from everywhere! I feel like going to it.. I'll probably bump into a few of my old girlfriends there, and get my heart broken again
