Some Kinda Monster - Project Land Rover

Hey thanks Tony !!, slack sent me the atv wheels, I think it just's makes it looks cool. I am hoping my plasti-card will turn up today (I cant wait !). If you gave a spare bonnet that would be awesome, thank you  

With the plasti-card turning up (I went for 2mm thickness), and much staring at it wondering what I had let myself into  , I finally decided to get stuck in.
With a design in mind, a sort of modern take on a vehicle action man could use (much like an action team vehicle)on his adventures, I started to cut   .
As some of you may have noticed from my earlier pics, I used some grey plastic to build up the missing dash board part(taken from a trainer tower control panel, I decided to do away with the middle seat and turn it into a communication centre.



The next job was to build up the dash board and front part of the land rover,





Having spent most of yesterday cutting the body parts I then started to glue it together, and soon it began to take shape  







Then I added the front screen and cover for the driver compartment, this is about as far as I got

the plasti-card, I got off ebay Jay, I used the 2mm, as it is the same thickness as vam vehicles

I hope this helps mate. I have also been using super glue to bomd it together, and so far it is going well  

cheers mate ,most helpful ,I was thinking about making a hard top instead of a soft top this is perfect ! cd cases for glass and aliberal spray in olive drab, my vehicle looks more like a 90 defender than a jeep anyway ,few arials and maybe a topcover hatch with 50 cal if I get adventurous!!!! .and maybe working headlights..  cheers dal

You are determined to make my jeep look pants aren't you Dal!?!! lol.. Looking great mate this is gonna look excellent when finished if the WIP pics are anything to go by.

  , different Jeeps mate, and taking nothing away from yours, s its superb.

I just have this image in my minds eye, and I hope I can pull it off  . I am really pleased you seem to have such confidence in my building  , it means a lot mate

With the rear sides fitted, it was time to start the back to give it a bit more definition. I also added a roof and a few running struts. I also added a part under the radiator grill. I also added an old rifle rack in the rear and a small compartment as well as a fuel tank.
With these jobs done I then added a external fuel tank and what will eventually become a first aid box. I also found a steering wheel which fitted in nicely. Next job ? Filler

Looking great, how easy is the plasti-card to get on with?

 , cheers Damo, and I am so pleased that you like it  . The plasti-card is really simple to work with, all you need really is a steel rule, a stanley blade and a cutting board and pencil. I used 2mm thickness plasti-card because it is the same thickness as vam vehicles and I found it really simple to work with. I have only tried straight lines tho mate, but I would recommend it to anyone having a bash at a custom
