Hawkeye's Longue Carabine

James and I have started trying to make a 1/6 scale version of Hawkeye's Carbine Rifle "La Longue Carabine"


Here is the start basic softwood version



and a standard pre smoothed shape



Here's my specialist "White Feather" posing with the early basic shape feeling it for balance, grip and weight



White Feather says basically the La Longue Carabine still needs more whittling down and making more streamlining but the basic shape is getting there ...





Here's White Feather with his preferred weapon but he's ready to go back in time and test the old snipers weapon Lock Stock and Barrel

Haha The missus has already started with the decorations so thought I'd get a bit of seasonal background

Cheers for that glad you like it, it's the first time we've tried to make anything like this so just making it up as we go along

hawk i am envious of your skills man this reminds me of the old tv series when the 3 good guys had not got enough black powder for a shot each but between the 3 of them they had enoygh for 1 last shot with la longue carbine to deter the baddies good old days

Cheers Jim I've always liked to tinker with stuff and brought James up to share this curiosity. I have just purchased the old 70s series of last of the Mohicans that was broadcasted on a Sunday afternoon by the BBC is this where you saw the shared powder sketch?

Yes I got it a few weeks ago but the missus is always watching soaps and that kind of stuff so have to find a good time to savour the old drama probably have to take it on my night shifts when everyone's sleeping
