To coincide with the iranian embassy siege which had captured the whole nation in the previous year of 1980 Palitoy released its quickest ever project the SAS Key Figure which took just one year from concept to release and was the biggest selling Action Man figure in years. This is often thought to have been released later as there were many off shoots to this figure and became an SAS series in itself but the truth is this was released very quickly whilst the SAS and siege was still fresh in our minds. This release also prompted death threats to be sent to the Palitoy design team  Thank god it never put them off eh ??. NOTE the later more detailed vest and rifle with solid butt and the inclusion of the belt with black pistol

This boxed figure originally came with this Rifle and a plain black vest but was later changed to a more detailed vest and the addition of a black belt and pistol

Another top seller back in the day. Again I'm liking the box artwork, especially the ' Secret Mission' and 'Beachhead Attack' images, very inspiring stuff Very Happy

Rolling Eyes  Don't tell anyone but this is one of my favourite boxed figures too!

The whole SAS concept and product line was amazing! Yet more proof that Palitoy's Action Man was THE best GI Joe licensee in the world!
