40th Aston Villa - Yes, Aston Villa!

One of the most desirable and costly vintage sets is of course the Aston Villa Footballer, a set that never made it into the 40th range. But, in true Blue Peter form I decided to put together my own "40th" Aston Villa fella.

The jumper is 40th West Ham which is the same jumper as the Aston Villa top. A pair of boots, a football and shorts and socks from the 40th range with a touch of Dylon dye and there he is. The badge is a repro and was the most expensive item in the 'bash. Total cost of the set (excluding figure) £9.75 - and that included the cost of the packet of Dylon.



Now all I need is the jacket...

Very nice....I love/hate the football range, sometimes with equal measures, my main gripe
being the inaccuracies of the kits themselves, the Villa kit proves the point. To my knowledge
Villa always sport white shorts and blue socks, West Ham pretty much the same but with
White shorts and white socks Palitoy seem to gloss over the colours of the teams with their own interpretation,
whether that's good or bad I don't know....but it drives me mad! I think it's the only range I'd like to
Swap out various garments to make more accurate depictions.......starting with the Liverpool red top for the red England shirt!

Great bash though, the figure has a look of Gary Shaw!
