Where did you get that Torch ? How many Candles is it ?
Ray-o-Vac LED two AA cell torch from a regular retail store. Nothing special about it, other than it has an aluminum body rather than plastic. I really need a slightly larger light, two D cells, for photo work, but this one is what I have available right now.
Sorry Dave that was my lame attempt at sarcasm , I thought you might remember the conversation we had , when I was looking for a new Torch , and how complicated it had got to buy new simple things .

Ah, I see! I recognized the reference to the earlier conversation, but I thought perhaps you were still in the market! Or that you had become a connoisseur of fine torches and flashlights!

Nice tutorial Dave, and I like that you showed your lighting.
I don't have any backgrounds, dioramas or room boxes, and very little space. I have a studio light with an umbrella, but it takes space and time to set it up.
I just use a white sheep of paper and bounce flash for the photos I've posted. This photo I took with my cellphone.

Looking at a site I haven't in a while, Sean Huxter used to do photo stories in the early 2000's. Here is an Adventure Team "space" story he did some time ago.
Clicking on view story to see it, credits are pretty self explanatory, inside scoop shows how he did a story board and behind the scenes. Apparently no out-takes on this one.

Wow! That was a really cool story! It's over twenty years old now, but still holds up well!
I can't seem to navigate around to see if any of his other Joe stories are still available. His main Wordpress site still appears to be working, but many of the links are either not working or lead to incomplete or missing pages.

Commander Kobayashi inspects the drive room of a captured Orion pirate vessel. After a brief summary trial, the pirates were all convicted and keel-hauled. Those who survived the keel hauling sere simply flushed out an airlock without a vacc suit. The goods in the cargo hold were then sold off with the crew of the Inside Straight taking shares, and the ship itself sold to a used ship dealer whom it is believed, sold it to hotel magnate on Gamma Hydra IV, who converted it into an orbital casino known as "The Floating Crap Game." It is routinely visited by the crews of Scout Squadron 13.

Nice use of multi-hued lighting, and excellent sharp focus on the figure!
These helmets present a lighting challenge. Ensuring there's enough light to illuminate the figure's face tends to create glare spots on the helmet. Are you using a polarizing filter to reduce the glare?

There is some good stuff there. I hate that he's gone to other projects. I really like the reviews he did on the modern Joes.

I don't even own a polarizing filter. The background, was first painted in light gun metal, then lit with two batter powered rectangular LED flashlights covered with blue gels. The white light on Kobie is small, circular LED flashlight, handheld, to camera left above the figure. Camera is on a tripod, f.8.0 at 400ISO, .4 seconds exposure.

There's a video to be made of the strange contortions we all seem to get into just to light a shot!

Later, her innards still inside her, Cadet Corbett shows off the latest in Space Casual Wear as worn aboard the FS-009 Edward D. Wood Jr.:
(Cadet Corbett is currently trying out a Jiaou 10E body in KT004 color to better demonstrate the natural buoyancy effect of reduced gravity.)

Cadet Corbett looks awesome in that body, but it might not fit the stretchy space suit that easily. If you do go with that body, plastic wrap is your friend.

This will be the "out of suit" body only. It is too chunky through the legs, particularly the calf area, for most of the boots I have. This was an experiment, and I will probably use a TBLeague body that is a bit less curvaceous if I stage future "space casual" scenes.
Unfortunately, the color match of Jiaou hands and feet to the body is poor, and the gaps at the wrists and ankles (the ankles in particular) are quite pronounced.

I'm finding that the Star Trek Barbie uniform seems to fit nicely on the S32 body. I am using Laura's, which means I will have to get a replacement body for Laura

I’m really liking the mini comic Garry. I’m really liking Cadet Corbett showing off the latest in Space Casual Wear because it’s nice and simple. I’m loving the background that she’s showing off the latest in Space Casual Wear.

Dave and I are probably gonna keep this a mini-comic sort of thing. One-off stories, short and funny.
