My First Dio.....at last lol

Room sizing in 1:6 scale can be discouraging. At 2 inches per foot, "true scale" rooms quickly become enormous. I try to not build in too many details so that furniture and accessories can be moved around for photographic and display purposes.

Everything will be removable as the area will be used for all dios.

I think I'm worrying about nothing to be honest. The room was going to be a study/meeting room. It will now just be a study and the meeting area/room will be a separate dio.

I find you can cheat a little with the spacing and it still looks OK.
What would be little too close crowded to move around in real life still looks fine in scale.

I think you're going great guns there Chris.
As you say yourself, I wouldn't stress about sizing too much. The templates were a good idea to help with sizing
whatever you'll build for it.

Yeah I'm hoping that once I start making and fitting the shelving and furniture it wont be as crowded as I thought.

Chris having made up a lay out paper templates for the office was a really sensible and really good idea mate. Bet it won’t be your first lay out paper templates for the office your put together because your probably change your mind again

Fitted all the skirting today. Then remembered that I was planning to paint it first
Ah well I will have to paint it in place.  Still haven't decided if it will be white or if I will stain the wood.
I got carried away with putting stuff in the pic so you cant really see it at the moment.

Haaa ha ha! Getting ahead of yourself with the trim boards, then remembering you planned to paint first! So many times with dioramas I've encountered the "I shoulda done xyz before I did abc!" It's all part of the "fun," such as it is, I guess. Put it together, take it apart, put it together again, feel annoyed over the wasted time, feel even more annoyed because in taking it apart you mess up the bits that looked really good and now they don't look as good, then find yourself tempted to toss the whole thing in the bin and start over.

I don't think you'll need to toss anything. The set is looking good.

I wonder how long the "no males" rule will last?

Hahaha it should be ok.  The floor will slide out if I need it to,  but I think I will just mask everything instead.

Getting there slowly.  I still need to do a bit of tidying up in places, but at least the HQ study has a way in and out now

Door looks good. I like the stain on the wood. As BAM says, the handle is well done.
Better color on the walls now.
Looks like plenty of space in which to set up some excellent scenes.

The handle is from an idea I saw on YouTube..although theirs was 1/12 scale. Its carved from wood.
As i said..still lots of tidying up before I'm happy, but at least its moving along now.
