Ha ha! Underwater restaurant, that's a good idea! "Captain Nemo's Pub & Grub!" It would fit the style of your "steampunk" characters!

it looks a different colour in every picture I've taken so far. Its actually a peacock blue.

I'm seeing just a dusty steely sort of grey rectangle in your picture Chris. Maybe just a tinge of blue towards the centre.

That's what I'm seeing as well.

Its peacock blue...honest  

I'm experimenting  with lighting to see what shows the walls correct colour,  but so far no luck.

Anyway its hammering down with  rain here today so I can't cut any wood for the dio ( as I have to cut large stuff outside  ).
But I did come up with a better fix for my AM bed strut. It's now drying ready for a quick and silly dio I've had in mind for a while.

It's still raining so I decided to start making some books for the study.
I'm only making a couple at the moment as it quickly became apparent that thin card would work better for the covers.....I ordered some from Amazon..should be here soon hopefully.
Anyway it's much more time consuming than I thought it would be. Waiting for glue to dry is soooooo boring

Edit: It's just occurred to me that I only need to make 5 or 6 "real" books as most will be dummy books on the shelves

The books look great Chris! Any that are on shelves can just be a printed strip, you don't have to go the full thing. Just download a free pic off the net!

Haha...see..I knew I would get the lighting right eventually.

I'm making the dummy books for the shelves tomorrow...I will post pics when I'm done.

If you want a more 3D effect for a bookcase rather than just a flat printed strip, why not just cut the spines from your mini-book download, roll them on skewers for a bit of shape then glue them side by side all along a strip of cardboard?

They will be full book covers, but wrapped around something..possibly wood or cardboard...to give them shape.
